Overview
Paddyfield.com offers approximately 2.5 million different titles from America, Britain, Asia and Australia. What you see is what with you pay, with no mark-ups, nor delivery charges (for Hong Kong deliveries) for orders of HK$280 or above.How to find and buy books

Finding books
Searching
To find a particular book, or books on a certain subject, enter words from the title, the author's name, the ISBN, or even the subject into the Search box at the top of every page.You can use the Advanced Search option to refine your search, by restricting the search to certain categories of book. Browsing
The left hand column contains numerous browse categories, from new titles in many genres to books recently reviewed in the international press. Books from current and past Paddyfield catalogues are also included. Sub-categories in each browse list appear in a menu above each list. The browse lists can be displayed in three different formats -- catalogue format, detail format and checkbox -- by using the buttons at the top of the page. The Book Display Page
The Book Display Page includes more information about each book, including other editions, links to external pages (including reviews), delivery information and the Buy button. Different editions
Many books are available in several editions: for example, American, British, Australian, hardcover, paperback or even audiobook. These different editions are listed on the Book Display Page. Customers should ensure that they are purchasing the correct edition of the book.
Buying books and the Shopping Cart
The Buy button
Books are placed in the Shopping Cart by clicking on the Buy button on the Book Display Page or the Search Page. One copy of the book will be placed in the Shopping Cart.The Shopping Cart
The Shopping Cart is accessed by clicking on the Shopping Cart Icon at the top of each page. On this page, you may review the items in your cart, change quantities ordered, or remove items by changing the quantity ordered to zero. Also in the Shopping Cart, you may purchase and use Gift Certificates, request Gift Wrapping and specify the delivery method. The Shopping Cart automatically divides items by deliveries (standard vs delayed). You can consolidate these into a single delivery, but note that books will be delivered only when all books are available. Delivery
Hong Kong deliveries are made by local courier and there is no charge for deliveries of HK$280 or more. Deliveries outside of Hong Kong use Hong Kong Post's cost-effective Speedpost courier service. Gift Wrapping
Click on the Gift Wrap Icon to select items for wrapping and designate a message to be included with each gift. There is a charge of HK$20 per item. To change the gift wrapping instructions, click on the Gift Wrap Icon again. Gift certificates
You may buy Gift Certificates right from the Shopping Cart. Gift Certificates are delivered electronically to the e-mail address given in the Ship to: field. Please make sure the information is correct before sending. To use a Gift Certificate, enter the serial number in box provided below the Shopping Cart and click Apply Gift Certificate. Gift Certificates must be used in their entirety. BookBucks (tm)
Logged in Paddyfield members with available BookBucks (tm) in their account can apply them to the total amount due. Available BookBucks will show in the Shopping Cart.
Checking out
To check out, select a payment method and enter billing and delivery information.Payment methods
You may pay using Paddyfield's secure on-line credit card payment service or offline, by mailing in a cheque, or calling or faxing in your credit card information. Delivery details
Enter your billing and shipping/delivery information into the fields provided. Normally these will be the same, but you can specify a different delivery address. Confirmation and invoice
If you selected credit card payment, you will asked to enter your credit card details. This will be followed by an order confirmation/invoice which you may print for your records. If you selected off-line payment, you will receive a form with may be used to accompany a cheque or to call or fax in your credit card information. Similar notifications are sent by e-mail to the address given in the Bill to: fields.
Order tracking
After two-three days, your order should appear in Paddyfield's order-tracking system, which can be accessed from the Where's my order? icon at the top of each page.
Delivery times, advanced and special orders
Most books are available in 7-14 days. However, some books may take longer because of low stock, or the country of origin. These books are marked delayed delivery.You may order books in advance of their publication or availability in Hong Kong. Advance orders incur a HK$3 surcharge and will be delivered when available. Some books cannot be sourced through normal channels and may incur a surcharge based on the circumstances. These are clearly marked. |
